What to Expect in Your First Session
Starting therapy can feel uncertain, especially if you’ve felt misunderstood or overwhelmed in the past. My hope is to create a space where you can settle at your own pace.
Before we begin
We’ll start with a short, informal call where you can share what feels comfortable and get a sense of me as a person and a therapist. After that I have some information I collect from you before we start our sessions- then we will discuss a date and go from there.
Your first session
There’s no expectation to tell your whole story. We simply begin where you are. You can share as much or as little as feels right.
As we continue
Therapy usually grows naturally from the relationship we build. Some days you might talk a lot.
Some days you might need quiet, reflection or grounding. Everything is okay.
